Eric Wojcikiewicz worked for 23 years as a trader in Chicago before moving to Hilton Head full time 4 years ago. He co-founded DBS Partners LP and traded on the CBOT, CME and CBOE. He is also co-founder of Medstrat, a software company serving the orthopedics industry. In 2003, Eric co-founded the Daniel M. Kerrane Jr. Foundation. The Foundation’s first initiative provided full-cost scholarships for Chicago Public School graduates to attend community college. Eric has served on the Investment Advisory Board of Resource Land Holdings LLC. He is currently a member of the Stewardship Circle of the UUSC, and through this organization became involved in building rural schools in Haiti. Eric is serving locally as a Director and Program Chair of the Hilton Head Institute. Eric holds a BA in physics and math from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Palmetto Dunes with his wife, Jamie Berndt, and they have four children ranging in age from 15 to 26.
Serving his third term on the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees, Bill Thomas is chair of the governance committee.
A longtime Hilton Head Island resident, Mr. Thomas came here in 1978 with Carswell Insurance Services, retiring only recently after an illustrious 43-year career.
He has served on numerous boards throughout his time here, including Hilton Head Heroes, Independent Insurance Agents of South Carolina, Nations Bank of Hilton Head, Federal Insurance Administration, Love Cove Property Owners’ Association, Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce, and the Hilton Head Homebuilders’ Association.
Mr. Thomas received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Wofford College.
He lives in Long Cove Club with his wife, Jerri, and has three children. Two of their children, Amy and Jason, graduated from Hilton Head Preparatory School in 1994 and 1998, respectively.
Ron Orie became a trustee in 2012 and is serving his second term on the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees. He is the Treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee.
Mr. Orie is a Financial Advisor/Associate Vice President – Investments and has been with the Hilton Head office of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC since 1999.
Prior to his recent wealth management position, Mr. Orie spent three years in institutional sales with First Union Capital Markets and Dain Rauscher. He started his career with Ryerson Tull, a global distributer and processor of metals and plastics, and served in various sales and management positions in Cincinnati, Louisville, Chicago and Minneapolis.
Mr. Orie received a Bachelor of Science degree in business/marketing from Miami University in 1989.
He and his wife, Vanessa, live in Bluffton with their three children, Grace ('15), Mac ('17) and Sarah ('18).
Susan Rankin joined the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees in 2010.
Mrs. Rankin currently serves Of Counsel with the law firm of Williams Coulson in Pittsburgh, PA, focusing on tax, estate planning and administration as well as general corporate and business matters. She has represented owners of leading financial services company in sale to strategic purchaser for a purchase price in excess of $750 million. Mrs. Rankin also designed and implemented estate and business succession plans for multi-million dollar estates and she designed, structured, and continued consultation with respect to operation of, charitable private foundations.
She is active with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and serves as a director of a charitable private foundation.
Mrs. Rankin graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from University of Richmond and received a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
She is married to Paul and they have three daughters, Katie ('16), Lizzie ('19) and Molly ('23), who attend Hilton Head Preparatory School.
Pat Jackson is in her third term on the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees, serving as secretary and as chair of Marketing Committee since she joined in 2008.
Mrs. Jackson is the chief operating officer for Lynes on Design, an interior design consulting business. She has held the position since 2009. She has also owned and operated a number of businesses, including Harbour Town Crafts (1988-2006), Harbour Town Toys (1993-2003), and Patricia Adams Haverford, PA (1983-1988).
She serves as community investment volunteer for United Way of the Lowcountry, advisor for The Children’s Center and volunteer for the Ret Pediatric Cancer Foundation. She is also the past president and vice-president of the Hilton Head Preparatory School Parents Association.
Mrs. Jackson attended Garrison Forest School, a private boarding school in Maryland and received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Denison University in Ohio.
Pat and her husband, Dan, live on Hilton Head Island with a son, Ben (’17), who attends Hilton Head Preparatory School. They also have two older sons who attend college.
Gary Joyner became a Trustee in 2015 and is serving his first term on the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees.
Mr. Joyner held several positions at Nortel Networks before moving on to become National Account Executive for Brenntag, the world’s largest chemical distribution company. He retired in 2012, but continues to do consulting work for the company.
Gary serves as the chairman of the Board of Directors for the Primary Ciliary Disorder (PCD) Foundation, a cause he holds near to his heart since his daughter has this rare lung condition.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.
Gary resides in Hilton Head with his wife, Kathy, and their daughter Mackenzie, Class of '20, who attends Hilton Head Prep.
Shelle Kelly graduated from East Carolina University in 1991, where she majored in Interior Design and minored in Fine Arts. She worked in the field of interior design in North Carolina and Georgia's Atlanta Design Art Center.
Shelle moved to the Bahamas in 1994 after marrying her husband, Gregory. There she became an entrepreneur and started a new business concept of selling only Bahamian made or designed souvenirs. Shelle became known as the art consultant to hundreds of Bahamian artist who sold their items in her store. She received the first ever Cacique Award in 1995 for the Retail Category from the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.
Shelle closed her shop in 2002 to become a full time mother to her two children, Avery and Jack '18, and a part-time fine art dealer for selected Bahamian Artist.
In 2006, Shelle opened a women's and children's resort wear boutique in the Lyford Cay Shopping Center, closing in 2011 when shopping center leases were not being renewed.
January 2012, she moved part-time to Hilton Head Island, so Jack '18 could pursue his tennis passion at Smith Stearns Tennis Academy. While her daughter, Avery, was at Asheville School, a boarding school in Asheville, NC.
Besides helping with individual charity functions, Shelle served on Lyford Cay International School's PA (currently known as the PTA), including the inaugural year. She has also served on Lyford Cay Club's Summer Committee and Tennis Committee.
Steve Marbut is in his third term with the board of trustees at
Mr. Marbut is president and chief executive officer of Lummus Corporation, a global supplier of cotton ginning and cotton seed cleaning equipment since 1999. Based in
Prior to his position at Lummus, Mr. Marbut’s career with General Electric Corporation, Inc. spanned nearly 25 years. He held various management positions, including President and Representative Director with Hitachi GE Lighting in
Mr. Marbut has served on several boards, including Savannah Chamber of Commerce (2000-2003), Savannah Manufacturing Council (2004-2006), and Georgia Southern University School of Business advisory board. He also served as president (2005) and board director (2004-2010, 2013-present) for the Hilton Head Baseball Association.

Mr. Marbut and his wife, Johnna, have two sons, J.T. ('14) and Trevor ('15), both of whom graduated from
Mark McDonald is new this year to the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees.
McDonald is the owner/president of Coastal Plains Insurance of the Lowcountry, which he founded fifteen years ago. He has been working in the insurance industry in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area for over 22 years and has served on various local boards and committees during that time.
McDonald received a Bachelor of Science degree in business (1991) and a Master of Science degree in education (1992) from Syracuse University. McDonald was a scholarship football player (quarterback) and was team captain during the 1991-1992 season. He received a number of awards from the Big East Conference for his academic and athletic successes.
McDonald has served as a volunteer youth football coach with Beaufort County Park and Leisure Services for 8 years. For the past three years, he has volunteered his time as the head coach for the Hilton Head Preparatory Middle School Football Team.
He lives in Bluffton with his wife, Nanette, and their two children, Madeleine (’16) and Stone (’20). Both their children are students at Hilton Head Preparatory School.
Anne Middleton currently owns and operates a home building company in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area where she directs the land development, sales/marketing, finance, and construction efforts. Prior to owning her own company, most of her career was spent as a sales and marketing executive with Del Webb/Pulte Homes Corporation.
Anne graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in 1993.
Anne lives in Hilton Head with her husband, Scott, and four children, all of which attend Hilton Head Prep.
Joe Nahman has served on the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees for the past seven years. He is chair of the facilities committee and has served on many Prep committees including marketing.
Mr. Nahman is the founding president of three local businesses, including RMC Resort Management (since 1992), Hilton Head Accommodations (since 1994), and Resort Source Vacation Ownership (since 2003).
He is a certified community association manager, a licensed property manager-in-charge, a registered resort professional, association management specialist, and a graduate of Leadership Hilton Head.
Mr. Nahman currently serves on a number of non-profit boards including the Hilton Head Rotary, the Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, Low Country Property Management Association, and Shipyard Plantation. Past board service includes; American Heart Association, Deep Well, Crossroads Community Services, South Carolina Community associations Institute (vice-president), Preferred Business Association (president).
Mr. Nahman graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Isenberg School of Management.
He is married to Jennifer and they have two daughters, Julia a sophomore at Wake Forest University who graduated from Hilton Head Preparatory School in 2013 and Jacquelyn, currently a junior at Prep.
Nick Turturro is proud to be serving his first term on the Hilton Head Preparatory School Board of Trustees. He is also Treasurer for the Parents Association, Vice-President of the Arts Guild, Co-Director of Heritage Concessions, and Technical Assistant at Hilton Head Prep's Main Street Theater.
Nick and his family moved to Hilton Head Island in 2010 and started a real estate investment company which he currently owns and manages. He has spent the majority of the last 30 years in the automotive industry and is also the owner of a local body shop, Precision Auto of Hilton Head. His professional skills include business, finance, computers, construction, electronics, fabrication, restoration, HVAC, plumbing, security, home building, renovation, and welding.
He enjoys collecting cars, ukuleles, and spending weekend time with his family off-island. His determination is to "lead by example" and strive to make Hilton Head Prep better every day.
Nick and his wife, Debbie, live on Hilton Head Island with their two children, Marianna (’24), and Antonio (’27). Both of their children attend Hilton Head Preparatory School.
