What organizations is Prep accredited by and affiliated with?We are accredited and members of the following organizations: the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, The National Association of Independent Schools , the Southern Association of Independent Schools, the South Carolina Independent Schools Association, National Association of College Admissions Counselors, School and Student Services, the College Board, College Entrance Examination Board, and the Palmetto Association of Independent Schools. Are students required to wear uniforms?Lower school students wear school uniforms and P.E. uniforms on their physical education days. Middle and Upper school students adhere to a dress code. What time does school start and end?School begins at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, school ends at 3:30 Monday through Thursday and students are dismissed at 1:30 on Fridays. Is there bus service?School bus service is available from the Bluffton area. Please contact the business manager or admissions office for more information. Can students spend a day at Prep?We encourage students to visit our campus, spend a day attending classes and meeting our students. Call the Admissions office to arrange for a visit. How many students are in each classroom?Our average classroom has 12 students. I may be moving to the Hilton Head area in February, do you admit students mid-year?We offer rolling admissions, applications are accepted at any time throughout the calendar year. Students are accepted if they meet the admissions requirements and there is space in the grade applying to. We generally do not accept new students in the third trimester. How many of your graduates are accepted by colleges and universities?We pride ourselves on being a college preparatory school, we have 100% college acceptance. Our dedicated college guidance team, led by Peg Hamilton, find the right colleges for each individual to submit applications. The students and their families meet with the college guidance counselor in their junior year to prepare for the college application procedure. College guidance office assists with the submission of the application and makes certain the essential elements are all in place; application essays, developing the co-curricular resume, encouraging their extracurricular achievements, and assisting in applying for college scholarships. Does Prep have financial aid?Yes, we have need based financial aid. Families apply and qualify based on the information submitted and the analysis from School Scholarship Services. Financial aid is limited, families should apply for financial aid by April 1. If I request financial aid will it affect the admissions decision for my child?No, the admissions process is need blind, students are accepted to Hilton Head Prep, before financial aid is offered. Is there a cafeteria?Yes, students can order lunch from the school menu or can bring their lunch from home. Generally 50% order lunch and 50% of our students bring lunch from home. Does Hilton Head Prep accept foreign students?Yes, we are authorized to issue the I-20 visa to non-immigrant alien students who meet the admissions qualifications. |
