Volleyball

The volleyball program was established in the years of Sea Pines Academy and May River Academy. Once these exceptional schools became one school, the program began to pick up steam. Prior to 1986, only a varsity program was in place. In 1986, the middle school program began. This allowed a feeder program to exist for the upper school. The numbers began to grow and the fire for the sport was ignited and JV team was added. In 1993, the varsity players were ready to compete against programs that had been established well before our fledgling program. The girl's defeated an undefeated team in the playoffs and later battled the same team for the state championship. They came away with a first runner-up trophy that year with the satisfaction that they had finally given Hilton Head Prep a hold in SCISA's competitive world. Today's teams are consistently in the running for region and state titles.

Coaches

Rodney Fisher - Varsity Coach

Coach Fisher began coaching varsity volleyball at Hilton Head Prep in 2007 after 10 years of coaching volleyball in at Detroit County Day School and in Cape Town, South Africa. He has also coached soccer, track and field, boys and girls field hockey and is an internationally certified coach and official in field hockey. Coach Fisher is married and has two sons, one, Carsten, a Hilton Head Prep student and teaches upper school science and math.
