Deadline Dates


You will need to review each college’s website to see what their deadlines are, based on how you want to apply- Early Decision, Early Action, Regular Decision, Rolling Admissions.

 

Early Decision-  The early decision process consists of the student making a commitment to a first-choice college, where, if admitted, they will definitely enroll.

If the college deadline is November 15th- applications with all paperwork must be submitted to the college guidance office no later than November 1st.

 

Early Action-  Early action is the application process in which the student applies to a college of preference and receives a decision well in advance of the college’s regular response time.

If the college deadline is October 15th- applications with all paperwork must be submitted to the college guidance office no later than October 1st.

 

Regular  Decision- The regular decision process consists of the student submitting an       application to a college by a specified date. The student will receive a decision from the college within a reasonable amount of time, usually no later than April 15th.

If the college deadline is December 1st – applications with all paperwork must be submitted to the college guidance office no later than November 15th.

If the college deadline is December 15th – applications with all paperwork must be submitted to the college guidance office no later than November 30th.

                           

Rolling Admission-  This process is when the college reviews applications as they are completed and provides a decision to students throughout the admission cycle.

 

Due to the Christmas break, college deadlines of January 1st through January 15th  must be submitted to the college guidance office no later than December 7th.

 

To be sure that the application package is sent within a reasonable amount of time prior to the college deadline, be sure to have all paperwork submitted to the College Guidance Office at least two weeks beforehand

To “sum up” senior responsibility:

  • Know the  college deadlines
  • Ask for letters of recommendations
  • Officially release all standardized test scores
  • Submit all completed paperwork to the College Guidance Office in a timely manner.
