I am delighted that you are visiting the Hilton Head Preparatory School website. Whether you are a prospective family, a current family, an employee or a curious visitor, we hope to give you a vivid impression that exciting things are happening here at Hilton Head Prep. With a rich history of more than 45 years, we take great pride in our outstanding team of educators, our rigorous college-prep curriculum and our extensive array of athletic teams, performing and visual arts, community service opportunities and co-curricular activities.
The backbone of our students’ achievements is our distinguished and dedicated faculty. Recruited from throughout the United States and abroad, more than 60% of our teachers and administrators have master’s degrees and several have doctorates. They are passionate about their profession, knowledgeable about their field of study and they adhere to a unique style of teaching that approaches each child as an individual who possesses unique strengths and interests. Most teachers coach athletic teams, sponsor clubs and service organizations, or direct one of our renowned fine and performing arts programs. Developing and supporting the whole child is paramount for our faculty, administrators and staff.
Just as our educators come from around the world, our students constitute an unusually diverse population. Hilton Head Island is a vibrant resort community which offers world-class facilities, numerous recreational activities and a wonderful community spirit. Our comprehensive need-based financial aid program allows us to enroll students from a wide-variety of ethnic and financial backgrounds. While we have many “lifers” in each graduating class, the transient nature of our student body results in a welcoming campus for students and adults alike.
I hope that this brief introduction and the other pages of this website will encourage you to learn more about our school. We are proud of the emphasis we place on strong academics and supportive interactions among motivated and loyal students, faculty, parents and alumni. An added bonus is our location, which is situated just two blocks from the ocean and adjacent to the beautiful 600-acre Sea Pines Forest Preserve.
We invite you to explore our virtual world and discover how much Hilton Head Prep has to offer. We welcome visits from interested families at any time throughout the year. If you would like to tour our campus, please visit the Admissions page. Come and see for yourself what it means to be part of the “Prep family.”
