Middle School Overview
Welcome to Hilton Head Preparatory School's middle school. We offer a supportive environment that provides each student the stability they need during this transitional period of life. Our teachers are "middle school" people who have made the choice to commit themselves to working with sixth through eighth graders. This commitment provides the foundation for a school culture that is structured to aid the students in their journey towards young adulthood.
We provide a challenging curriculum that emphasizes academic rigor that will prepare them for upper school and beyond. We combine this academic focus with developmentally appropriate activities that aid in the social development of the individual student.
Our schedule structure allows for us to have an advisory component in which we deal with the academic, social-emotional and organizational needs of middle level students. This advisory component is supplemented by a sixth grade orientation program that allows us to deal with the needs that are specific to the sixth grade students who are transitioning from the lower school.
The academic rigor combined with the developmentally appropriate approach, allows us to have a middle school that provides a safe and nurturing environment where each and every student feels part of the whole.
