As co-chair of the Inspire a Mind Fund, past Hilton Head Prep board member and proud parent of middle schooler, Isabella, I get to see the value of a Prep education every day through my daughter's eyes. Prep is a place where her intellectual and creative passions are fueled. She loves the performing arts and my wife, Dionella, and I have enjoyed watching Isabella thrive through the opportunites provided at Hilton Head Prep.
It is through philanthopy that Prep is able to mount plays like The Secret Garden and The Sound of Music. The generosity and philanthropy of the Prep community provide great opportunities, not only in the arts, but in our strong academic and athletic programs.
Philanthropy does far more than just keep the lights on - it lifts our programs from the basics to a high level of excellence by providing opportunities beyond those covered by tuition and fees.

In addition to being Co-Chair of the Inspire a Mind Fund, I am also a parent of an alumnus - Sarah Hancock '12. Sarah is now a student at Clemson University after attending Hilton Head Prep for 12 years. I have had the opportunity to look back and evaluate the impact that a Prep education has had on Sarah. Prep prepared her by teaching her to work hard, capitalize on her strengths and use those strengths and her strong educational foundation to become a successful university student.
Philanthropy is the difference between a good school and a great school. My husband, Bobby, and I continue to give back to Prep with our time and philanthropy because we believe that a strong vibrant private school enriches our whole community.
My Co-Chair, Bill, and I believe in a strong private school education and that's why we have volunteered this year for the Inspire a Mind Fund. I hope you will join us with your philanthropy and ask how your own gift will inspire a mind.
