Upper School

In the Upper School, students are encouraged to become critical thinkers. They are immersed in the kind of academic atmosphere they will encounter in college. The most important component of Prep’s academic program is the partnership between students and teachers. The faculty members are committed to providing real challenges to all of our students, and each instructor is equally committed to helping them meet these challenges. In all courses in each of the disciplines, from traditional sections to Advanced Placement courses, Prep teachers are available to meet individually with students. Students work hard at Prep, and they are supported in their efforts.

The warm, friendly environment of Upper School fosters strong and lasting relationships among students and between students and faculty. Above all, it is a place where numerous opportunities exist for students both to discover and then to nurture their own particular strengths and interests. Our balanced program of co-curricular activities, community service, academics, the fine arts, technology, and athletics combines to teach the virtues of fair play, teamwork, and leadership.

In Upper School, the job of our teachers is to ready our students for the next step in their academic career: college. From academic coursework to standardized testing (Stanford, PLAN, PSAT, ACT, and SAT along with AP exams), the Upper School program readies our students for success.
