  • Lower School Art Teacher

    Position Summary:
    Hilton Head Prep seeks a creative, collaborative, and engaging Lower School Art Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for visual arts and the ability to inspire and nurture young students in grades JK3 through 5.

  • Pre-Primary Assistant Teacher – Montessori Classroom

    Position: Pre-Primary Assistant Teacher

    Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Pre-Primary Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant Montessori classroom. The ideal candidate will have a
    passion for early childhood education and a deep respect for the Montessori philosophy, supporting children in their natural development and fostering a love for learning.

    As a Pre-Primary Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside the Lead Montessori Teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for children aged 18 months-3 years.

    Your role will involve helping to facilitate daily classroom activities, supporting individual student needs, maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, and ensuring that each child
    feels valued and respected.

      • Collaborate with parents to support each child’s educational journey and address any concerns or questions they may have.
      • Conduct two (2) Parent Teacher Conferences per school year.

    Qualifications:

    • Montessori teaching credential (AMI or AMS) for the appropriate age group (Primary).

  • Upper School Spanish Teacher

    Upper School Spanish Teacher 
    Start Date: August 4, 2025
     
    Position Overview:  Hilton Head Prep is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Spanish Teacher to join our dedicated faculty in August 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Spanish, with the ability to inspire and engage students. Strong candidates will have experience, preferably in an independent school setting and an understanding of the critical role that excellent teaching, accessibility, and active learning play in building a robust Spanish program.  The Upper School Spanish Instructor is responsible for building on existing curriculum, teaching Spanish, and creating a dynamic learning environment for students in the class. This position will involve teaching students in a variety of levels.  Upper School students can take Spanish 1 through Spanish V Honors and additional AP offerings.  Students are required to take a minimum of three years of Spanish in Upper School.  Involvement and engagement in regional and national Spanish associations is encouraged. Additionally, strong candidates will demonstrate the capacity to engage with students beyond the classroom as academic and club advisors, or through involvement in co-curricular theater and sports programming.
     
    Responsibilities:
    • Prepare materials and classroom for class activities, ensuring they reflect diverse perspectives and cultures to foster cultural competency among students.
    • Deploy and collaborate on course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, project-based learning, and handouts, integrating cultural elements that broaden students' global awareness.
    • Manage the classroom and differentiate learning to ensure successful learning for every student, taking into account diverse backgrounds and learning styles to promote inclusivity.
    • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students opportunities to explore and appreciate different cultures.
    • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions or activities in the target language, incorporating cultural topics to promote cross-cultural understanding and communication.
    • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records using the Blackbaud LMS.
    • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support academic growth.
    • Nurture relationships with students and parents through consistent communication. .
    • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of upper school programs.
    • Collaborate with the Learning Resource Specialist, Department, and Division Heads to develop strategies for students of concern.
    • Maintain expertise in the field through ongoing professional development demonstrating a commitment to the field of study or knowledge of learning styles.
    • Serve as an Academic Advisor and Club Sponsor or Athletic Coach.
    • Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, prefer MA or other post graduate work in Spanish, language acquisition, or pedagogy
    • Experience teaching Spanish
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Technologically proficient in curriculum design and classroom presentation
    • Demonstrate a capacity to be involved with students beyond the classroom as academic and club advisors or involvement in other co-curricular theater and sports programming.

  • Part-time CDL Bus Driver

    CDL Bus Operator
    Part-time
    Starting in August, 2025

    Part-Time/As Needed CDL (Class B) bus driver needed for late afternoon/early evening sports team trips and some short daytime trips. This position is responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and related events. Primary responsibility will
    be for athletic events (to and from) which can occur in the afternoon/evenings. 

    Responsibilities Include:
    - Operating the Bus: Safely driving a bus along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and regulations, and following a schedule. 
    - Safety and Compliance: Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, ensuring all safety equipment is in working order, and adhering to DOT regulations. 
    - Vehicle Maintenance: Performing basic maintenance checks (tires, lights, oil, etc.), and reporting any mechanical issues or defects. 
    - Maintaining a Clean Bus: Keeping the bus interior clean, tidy, and free of clutter. 

    Requirements:
    - Active Commercial Driver’s License (Class B).
    - Must pass background check.
    - Interest in working around children aged 2 years to 12th grade.

  • Prep Plus Aftercare

    Our Prep Plus Aftercare program is needing assistants! Prep Plus is offered every calendar school day here at Hilton Head Prep. The hours are Monday-Thursday from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm and Friday from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm. Compensation will be $20 per hour.
  • Substitute Teachers

    We are seeking talented and inspired elementary through high school Guest Teachers for our multi-age classrooms. A position at Prep is an opportunity to grow as a teacher/researcher in a supportive and active community. This position requires a person who is detail oriented, child centered, has a sense of humor and most of all, is able to work in a team. 
     
    Responsibilities
    •Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher
    •Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
    •Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned
