Hilton Head Preparatory School Announces Historic $1.5 Million Gift Establishing the Wojcikiewicz Family Financial Aid Endowment Fund

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Hilton Head Preparatory School is honored to announce a
transformational $1.5 million gift from Jamie Berndt and Eric Wojcikiewicz, parents of two Hilton Head
Prep graduates Marisa Wojcikiewicz ’14 and Keira Wojcikiewicz ‘18, to establish the Wojcikiewicz Family
Financial Aid Endowment Fund. This extraordinary investment is the largest endowment gift in the
school’s history, marking a defining moment in the life of the School.
The Wojcikiewicz Family Financial Aid Endowment Fund has been created to provide need-based
financial assistance to students who aspire to attend Hilton Head Prep but may not otherwise see it as
an option. Awards from the Fund will prioritize students whose enrollment increases the racial, ethnic,
socioeconomic, and cultural diversity of the Prep community; students who may be first-generation
college aspirants; and students who demonstrate promise, character, perseverance, and potential,
even if they have not yet achieved traditional measures of success. The overarching goal is to ensure
that financial circumstances do not prevent capable, motivated students from accessing the exceptional
educational experience Hilton Head Prep provides.

“This gift represents tremendous leadership by the Wojcikiewicz family in supporting our ability to
sustainably ensure that Hilton Head Prep is a center of excellence for all within our community,” said
Paul W. Horgan, Head of School. “The Wojcikiewicz family understands that talent and potential exist in
every community. Their generosity ensures that Prep can continue opening doors for students whose
lives may be changed by opportunity.”

Jamie Berndt and Eric Wojcikiewicz are parents of two Prep alumni who joined Hilton Head Prep in
middle and upper school. While their family’s time at Prep spanned only a portion of their children’s
academic journeys, the impact was lasting and deeply meaningful.

“We believe in Prep’s mission, because we’ve watched it in action. We believe access to Prep’s academic
environment should not be limited by financial constraints. We also believe that Prep is made better
when the diversity of its population more matches that of our larger world,” said Berndt and
Wojcikiewicz. “It is our hope that this fund will increase access to the academic opportunities that Prep
offers to students from underrepresented communities. This will benefit everyone on campus - staff,
teachers, and students alike.”

Eric Wojcikiewicz served the School with distinction for nine years on the Board of Trustees, including
six years as Board Chairman, and the Wojcikiewicz family has been an engaged, committed presence at
Hilton Head Prep for more than 15 years. Their leadership, advocacy, and generosity have helped shape
the School’s trajectory during a period of significant growth and strategic focus.

This landmark gift is a cornerstone of Hilton Head Prep’s broader fundraising campaign, an ambitious,
multi-year effort driven by the School’s long-term strategic plan. The campaign focuses on three key
priorities: expanding and enhancing the campus, renovating existing academic and athletic spaces, and
strengthening the School’s endowment to ensure long-term financial sustainability and expanded
access. School leaders hope the Wojcikiewicz Family Financial Aid Endowment Fund will serve as both a
catalyst and an invitation—encouraging others who share a passion for educational opportunity to
invest alongside them.

“This is a truly historic moment for our School,” said Sam Bauer ’84, Board Chair. “Gifts of this
magnitude do more than strengthen an endowment—they send a clear message about who we are and
who we strive to be. We are hopeful this remarkable act of generosity will inspire others to join us in
expanding access and opportunity for future generations of Prep students.”

Hilton Head Preparatory School extends its deepest gratitude to Jamie Berndt and Eric Wojcikiewicz for
their visionary leadership and enduring commitment. Through this extraordinary gift, countless students
will be empowered to discover their potential, pursue excellence, and experience the life-changing
impact of a Hilton Head Prep education.
